A wonderful phrase very much in keeping with the novel's doubts about touching
physical fact and ultimate truth. "Closely related" is perhaps as close
as we can come. Note that "actuality," as defined in the next sentence,
is measured by relevence, to current or subjective experience. This is
similar to novel, where the recurring word "fact" almost always referred
to some subjective issue.
