Nostromo is referring to the secret, but Decoud has given away another "whole
thing" -- his life. The one is symbolic of the other: the silver on the Great
Isabel stands for the treasure of the subjective self, which is what Nostromo
wants to keep secret and what Decoud tosses aside.
